Güterbahnhof

A small walking course along the area of the former freight station, torn down in 1999, proposed venue for an "Urbain Entertainment Center" (UEC).

May 2004: the area is still empty. Investors have withdrawn from the UEC project.

The area: northwest of the main station. App. 2km from city center.

Towards the north, the old festival hall, the
Marriot hotel,the tradefair hall nr.2 beneath
the Messeturm.

Looking east. Still lots of space.

The new trade fair hall looks like a whale.

The sykscraper district in the east.

A new road is still the only "building" on the new area.

Buildings on the borderline.

Buildings from the adjactend "Gallus Viertel"
expose their rear fronts and backyrads.

Settlements near no-mans land.

Strange vegetation has occupied the roadside.

A lonely railroad. I'll may serve future construction purposes.
