Here are some ideas how to enjoy the summer on the banks of the river Main.

"Bootshaus FKV"

Fruchtig A-Hoy! Annette Gloser well known for her Galerie Fruchtig and her establishment Lobo (Texas) has recently started to run this place. The former boats' house will atract a different kind of people now. Simple drinks, small snacks, lots of space and a splendid terrace.

Every day (expt. Tuesday) from 16:00 - 24:00

Main Café

Lucky ones get a deck chair with a view towards the skyscrapers.

Established already last year (2002) this small outlet has become incredible popular.

Avoid Sunday afternoons or expect nasty queues and crowds. More horrible than an outdoor swimming pool!

Serves a limited selection of basic drinks, plus some simple food.

Open every day from around 15:00 till midnight. Closed by rain.
Location: on the southern riverbank, just below the Museum of Architecture [...map 80k]

Lost Gelatinos

Mobile carts selling ice cream, soft drinks and funky music from mini turntables.
A fierce competition for Main Café by Frank Landau.

Everthing together in one box.

Lost Gelatinos can be found on several evenings all around the southern riverbank.
Watch out or check website.

Wassersportverein

A nice boat on the riverbank near Alte Brücke. You sit "on deck" with a splendid view towards the bridges and the shore. Ducks included. Absolutely cosy.
